Plywood Cut List & Sheet Calculator

Plan rectangular pieces across full sheets, allowing for your saw kerf. Get a buy list and a practical cutting layout.

Your sheet and pieces

Sheet size

Use actual usable width.

Use actual usable length.

Material removed by the blade. Use a decimal or fraction, such as 0.125 or 1/8. Zero is allowed.

Keep orientation when piece width must follow sheet width and length must follow sheet length, such as for grain or a patterned face.

Pieces needed

All sizes are inches. Add up to 30 rows and 200 total pieces. Dimensions accept up to six decimal places.

Piece 1

Across the sheet width when orientation is kept.

Along the sheet length when orientation is kept.

Whole pieces.

Piece 2

Across the sheet width when orientation is kept.

Along the sheet length when orientation is kept.

Whole pieces.

How it works

We arrange your rectangular pieces across full sheets and leave room for the saw kerf between cuts. When allowed, pieces may turn 90° to fit. We try several arrangements and choose one using the fewest sheets found, with straightforward cuts across the remaining material.

Material used is the requested piece area divided by the full sheet area purchased. The rest is shown as waste, including blade loss and leftover offcuts. The buy list uses sheet dimensions; no thickness, material grade or pricing is assumed.

Before cutting

Use actual usable sheet dimensions. There is no automatic allowance for damaged edges, trimming, defects or final sanding. Reduce the usable size or increase piece sizes yourself if your project needs those allowances.

Keep orientation for grain-sensitive work. With rotation allowed, check each rotated piece against your grain or face-pattern requirements. This plan covers rectangles only and does not combine different sheet sizes.

Review the diagrams and text list before buying or cutting. Follow safe practices for your tools and supports; the diagrams do not specify a complete saw-handling procedure.

Planning estimate only. Verify dimensions, kerf, grain direction and cutting sequence on the actual material.
