How This Paint Calculator Works
If the project includes new wallboard, estimate drywall sheets for separately planned wall work before planning the finish; paint coverage does not determine drywall sheet quantities. If considering wallpaper instead of paint, estimate wallpaper for an alternative wall finish as a separate quantity estimate; roll coverage and paint coverage are not interchangeable.
Add the height and width of each wall. If you want a more precise estimate, add doors and windows so their area can be subtracted.
Paint coverage varies by product and surface. Check the label on the paint you plan to use and change the coverage value if needed.
